The Hengshan and Heishuihe tunnel works under Contract ZCB1-1 of the G4216 Ningnan–Panzhihua Expressway are located in Ningnan County, Liangshan Prefecture, and form a key control section of the Yanjiang Expressway.
Sichuan Guandie Construction Co., Ltd. undertook the tunnel labor works for this project, demonstrating the company’s professional capability in tunnel construction.
The site has complex geological conditions. Construction faces multiple difficulties including karst treatment, gas risk control and highly variable surrounding rock, while ventilation, dust control, mucking and advance geological prediction are all demanding.
Located in mountainous terrain, the project also carries heavy duties for temporary works and access-road maintenance, and must strictly meet environmental, water-conservation and standardized-inspection requirements.
The scope covers the full sequence of works: construction, operation and removal of temporary facilities, tunnel excavation and mucking, primary support, secondary lining, invert backfill, waterproofing and drainage, and portal and portal-slope protection.
The company deployed certified project management, safety and surveying personnel, a full set of dedicated tunnel equipment and a workforce of over 140 (50 skilled workers, 90 general workers), with all special-operation personnel certified.
Works strictly follow highway construction specifications, with refined control of each process and simultaneous implementation of safety production, civilized construction and soil-and-water environmental protection. The tunnel main works and ancillary structures were completed despite complex conditions, laying a solid foundation for the G4216 Yanjiang Expressway Ningpan section.
Quality meets the national standards and the qualified grade. Concealed works are open to unconditional re-inspection by the Employer and the Owner, and defects are rectified free of charge within the liability period.
