The Anxin County Dazhangzhuang alkali-drainage ditch comprehensive treatment project lies just east of Anxin County town, outside the Baiyangdian embankment, bordering Daqugou to the north. It mainly serves alkali drainage and flood relief for the surrounding farmland.
The ditch is 9.8 km long in total — 7.6 km of main ditch and 2.2 km of branch — passing through Dazhangzhuang, Xiaozhangzhuang, Xiaotianzhuang, Songzhuang, Dongliujie and Beilianjie villages. This treatment covers 8.7 km in a "D"-shaped layout over an area of 5.84 km².
Removal of domestic waste along both banks and in the channel; demolition of dry toilets along the ditch; dredging and disposal of bottom sludge; treatment of existing in-channel wastewater; desilting and clearance excavation; bank restoration and earth filling. The works also include 1 pumping station (capacity 1.4 m³/s), 1 control gate and 1 stop-log gate, 10 flow-pushing aerators, plus operation and maintenance services.
Combining external-source control with internal-source treatment, the bottom sludge was dredged and the banks restored to eliminate internal pollution. The new pumping station, control gate and stop-log gate together with 10 flow-pushing aerators form a complete water-circulation and aeration system. Water quality passed sampling tests, and before-and-after comparisons show marked improvement — clear water and green banks, with the alkali-drainage, flood-relief and ecological functions restored.
The construction period was 210 days. The project has passed completion acceptance, comprising on-site inspection and a final acceptance review meeting.
